WOMADelaide wins Helpmann and FasterLouder Awards
WOMADelaide was recognised at the Australian entertainment industry's prestigious 2008 Helpmann Awards. The annual Helpmann Awards (named in honour of Sir Robert Helpmann) recognise and celebrate artistic achievement and excellenc in Australia's live performance industry. WOMADelaide was awarded Best Contemporary Music Festival this year. The WOMADelaide Foundation, presenter of the three-day world mucis festival, is delighted with the award and wishes to thank its colleagues, sponsors, performers and the many thousands of fans who have continued to support this international music festival.
WOMADelaide were also delighted to accept the award for Best Sound and Production at the inaugural FasterLouder Festival Awards on 15 October. The awards are the definitive, publicly voted determination of the good, brilliant and best elements of the Australian outdoor music event landscape. WOMADelaide would like to thank everyone who voted.
